Jorge Quiñones

My name is Jorge Quiñones and I'm the author of Hekate: Mistress of the Pronaos: A Modern Approach to Hekate's Ancient Magic and Practice. The goal of this Kickstarter project is to help me fund and self-publish this book, as well as to hire a professional editor and typesetter, cover printing and distribution costs, and pay the artists I've hired to create images for the book.

I fell in love with the Great Goddess Hekate at the age of 19 as a result of a near-death experience. I've read various books on Hekate, and the more I read, the more I realized that no book could do the goddess justice like one based on academic sources and the latest archaeological evidence. This book has been written using only the latest academic papers and PhD-level research.

I've taken various courses in Greek and Coptic research, and traveled to Lagina, Ephesus, Pergamon, Hierapolis, and Rome to verify the claims made in this book — based on the most up-to-date academic research and archaeological evidence available as of 2026.

Even though I was educated as an EE with an MBA, I was trained in magic by my mother and philosophy by my father from a very young age, and later joined and graduated from an illustrious mystery school in the early 2000s. I've used that training and occult education to draft the rituals in this book.

The book is almost done — the material is complete. I just need to raise funds to finalize it: a final edit and professional typesetting.
